2018
During my last year of university at UC Davis, I was given the opportunity to propose/create an updated, modern brand identity for Unitrans. It was a final project for one of my design class where we take design request from the school departments or events.
My assigned group researched on what define Unitrans and decided to redesign the logo, bus stop sign, bus passes and render a new bus shelter design. As shown above, the left is the old logo and the right is the propose design.
Use this space to promote the business, its products or its services.
The New Design
Our group agreed on creating a more modern and establish look for the brand, yet still remain memorable and recognizable to the student and local residents. With that in mind, we corporated the single deck bus (which is often seen in campus/around town) and a slogan to portrays one of the many aspects that make Unitrans unique: Unitrans is 90% student run.
The original bus stop sign was not as eye catching and lack of useful information to the rider. We redesign the sign so that it can catch ones eye from a distance, yet provide detail info for riders.
To update the design of the bus passes, we incorporated some elements that are from Davis to bring more memorable and fun identity about Unitrans. Around the time when we were doing the project, it was also Unitrans' 50 years anniversary. So we created a bus pass design that celebrate such event.
